Apply force through the fitted ring

Press force must pass through the ring being mounted, never through rolling elements or the cage. A mounting sleeve distributes force and reduces local brinelling.

Heat only within a controlled process

Induction heating can ease interference fitting, but temperature distribution, maximum temperature and demagnetisation must be controlled. Open flame is not an acceptable bearing-heating method.

Preload requires a measurable result

Angular contact and tapered bearings require defined axial setting. Measure clearance, starting torque or displacement according to the approved procedure rather than tightening by feel.
